The Fighter

Ever since I got over the whole "Good guy always has to win" phase in my movie watching experience, inspirational movies never really appealed to me. I would always think, "Hmmmm, well at first he sucks at a certain sport and he gets all sad.... and then he wants to get better.... so he does.... wins everything.... happy happy joy joy. THE END". But, after recently watching the new film, "The Fighter", it appears as though I have to give this genre another looking over.

The Fighter is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Not so much because of the premise surrounding it, but because of the superb acting and amazing cinematography. Mark Walberg obviously gets a lot of credit for his performance, but what I was most impressed with was the job done by Christian Bale. If any of you have a friend or loved one who has been or is a crack addict, you truly appreciate the role Bale plays in this movie. All of his mannerisms down to the most minute tick are simply spot on.... makes me wonder if he smoked a little bit to get into character before filming ;)

And my God, was the cinematography outstanding in this film. What impressed me most were the fight scenes (obviously) and the documentary scenes. In the fight scenes, the film was recorded as though you were actually watching a legitimate fight on television (not from the normal and overly used perspective of "being in the ring"). What made this effect even more entertaining was the film lens or effect they used on the camera in order to make it look as though you were watching it back in the 80's.

To be honest, I feel like I'm butchering the movie the way I'm describing it, but, I promise you, The Fighter is an outstanding movie that everyone should at least give a chance!

Sorry for the wait but.....

I lied. I'm not gonna be talking about bongs or pipes today. Instead, I'm gonna introduce you guys to some good music (cause if your following my blog, I'm SURE you don't listen to any of the top 40 shit unless it Kanye West cause he's a badass).

First Things First, I Eat Cha Brains
Aight, so if you haven't listened to Kanye's Monster yet, you really need to get your head out of your ass. That is all.

Something Different
This is the ever wonderful MSTRKRFT and you should listen to them.... no matter who you are. This specific link is for their newest song, "Heartbreaker" which features John Legend, but if you don't like it, don't write MSTRKRFT off just yet... they have A LOT of different sounds comin' at ya with some extremely tasteful synth in all their songs.... check 'em.

Kingdom - You
If any of have heard this song, then you obviously browse pitchfork WAY too much. Kingdom is an artist that very few people have heard of and, unfortunately, he's kinda a one-hit-wonder in my library... doesn't diminish the fact that this song is awesome tho.

Bassnectar and Pixies.... YUM
If you haven't heard "Where is My Mind" by the Pixies yet, then I am extremely disappointed in you because it also means that you haven't seen Fight Club yet either.... but we'll discuss that later. This hur link is for the Bassnectar remix of said Pixie song and is absolutely fantastic. Not to mention, it sounds AMAZING when you're stoned off your ass... best part about it? It's 4 minutes and 20 seconds long looooooooooool

Third things first

To start this blog off right, I want to talk about something that is obviously near and dear to all our hearts: why you should use Cannabis a.k.a. Marijuana. Now, before you say anything, I would just like to direct you to a documentary called "The Union: the business of getting high". I challenge you to disprove anything stated in this documentary.

The Union: the business of getting high

If after seeing that video, you have no desire to even try marijuana, I honestly don't know what to tell you. Weed will make everything in your life 10x more enjoyable; from food and sex, to music and movies and everything in between. Hell, it even makes class interesting sometimes.

Some of you might be hesitant due to the fact that, although marijuana itself does not cause cancer, smoking anything almost guarantees some form of lung cancer. I had the same concern, so I don't blame you. If this is the case, I highly recommend getting a vaporizer due to the fact that there are literally NO malicious health effects when using one, not to mention it is about twice as effective as smoking cannabis which can save you a ton of money over time. The best place to purchase a vape in my opinion is ebay since they're so much cheaper than anywhere else.

Here are two websites that review vaporizers that are worth checking out:

How to use a vaporizer

Protip: If you're super cheap like me, get the EasyVape and split it with some buddies.

If you're too cheep to buy a vaporizer, then baking up some baked goods is an absolutely fantastic and extremely safe way to experience all the benefits of THC. The only downside to cooking up some cannabis is that it is usually pretty time-consuming. There are thousands of recipes all over the internet but here's a site that will basically hold your hand and walk you through the baking process:

The Cannabis Chef

And that's about it for now. Next, I'll be talking about bongs, pipes, and other ways to smoke marijuana. If you have any questions, go ahead and make a comment and I'll try my best to address it in my next post.
